Getting in touch - Interactive Whiteboards for children with severe and complex needs
Led by Ian Bean (ICT in Practice Award winner for Inclusion and former ICT Coordinator at Priory Woods School), this full day, practical course examines the use of Interactive Whiteboards as a teaching and learning tool for children with severe and complex needs.
Programme
Delegates attending this course will learn how interactive whiteboards CAN be used with ALL pupils from the earliest stages of learning to provide meaningful and motivating access to the curriculum. They will see and make inclusive activities that can be used by a whole class including those using switches or alternative pointing devices.
This course will be of interest to colleagues working directly with learners experiencing severe and complex needs including those with severe Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The course will focus on good classroom practice and as such is appropriate to users of any type of interactive whiteboard including Interactive Plasma Screens, Smart and Promethean boards.
