Training Suite

Inclusive Technology is now running training courses in our brand new, state-of-the-art IT training suite. Ideal for those using technology to support learners with special needs, these courses provide lots of practical activities, hands-on sessions, information and advice and of course, inspiration!

Courses cost £150 plus VAT per delegate (£176.25). Please fax or post your completed booking form with an official purchase order, alternatively please post payment in full by cheque payable to 'Inclusive Technology Ltd' or complete your credit card details on the booking form.

We can also run product based or general courses at your organisation, designed to meet your needs. We also provide a consultancy service.

Communicate: In Print 2 - Tuesday 23rd February 2010

Learn how to utilize Communicate: In Print to create symbol supported books, posters and worksheets. This course helps you develop the skills and knowledge to create documents which will support a wide range of learners.

A practical day exploring resources and strategies to help develop communication skills from a pre-intentional level to expressing a range of communication functions and early word combinations with low and high-tech communication aids.

Developing Switch Skills - Thursday 4th March 2010

From cause and effect to choice making. Types of switches, mounting solutions, using one or two switches, introducing scanning and lots more will be covered. This will be a practical "hands-on" day that will allow you to see and try an extensive range of software and other devices that can be accessed using switches.

Technology to support learners with Dyslexia and associated difficulties - Tuesday 9th March 2010

This course will provide an overview of the wide range of technologies available to support those struggling with reading and writing in an inclusive setting, including speech output, word prediction, mind mapping, voice recognition and electronic books.

Getting in touch - Interactive Whiteboards for children with severe and complex needs - Tuesday 27th April 2010

Led by Ian Bean (ICT in Practice Award winner for Inclusion and former ICT teacher at Priory Woods School), this full day, practical course examines the use of Interactive Whiteboards as a teaching and learning tool for children with severe and complex needs and those with severe Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

Delegates attending this course will learn how interactive whiteboards CAN be used with ALL pupils from the earliest stages of learning to provide meaningful and motivating access to the curriculum. They will see and make inclusive activities that can be used by a whole class including those using switches or alternative pointing devices.

Creative use of SwitchIt Maker 2 - Tuesday 4th May 2010

Led by ICT in Practice Award winner Ian Bean, the creator of the Priory Woods web site, this full day hands on course will explore some of the more creative ways that SwitchIt! Maker 2 can be used with learners experiencing severe and profound learning difficulties.
