A day course exploring how to make the best use of the Movie Creator from Digital Blue

The Movie Creator from Digital Blue is a simple digital camcorder. Create your own video resources for use within multimedia or on a website. The software is quick and easy to install. Explore and play to create your own video resources that can be used within other software.

This exciting movie camera lets you:

  • Direct and record, capturing digital video and audio at or away from your computer.
  • Edit your movies with the included software doing transitions between scenes.
  • Add special effects and animations, plus titles and credits.
  • Take hundreds of snapshots like a digital camera or even create stop-motion animated movies.

The course is run by members of our experienced Information Team, exploring ways to get the best from this digital camera in your educational setting.

Programme

Colleagues attending this hands-on course will:

  • Have an understanding of the digital camera and its operations
  • Explore and become familiar with the editing software
  • Use SwitchIt! Maker 2 to import, edit and create film, including making a resource suitable for access by switch users
  • Be able to use the camera for simple stop frame animations
  • Become aware of the curriculum potential of the digital camcorder

This course is ideal for teachers and support teachers in mainstream and special schools, as well as for those working with clients away from the classroom. This course is aimed at total beginners as well as the more experienced camcorder user – bring along your own video to share and edit!

Each delegate will receive:

  • A 1 Gb memory stick preloaded with additional resources

Each delegate will have the option to pay an additional £50 plus VAT and will also receive:

  • The Digital Movie Creator from Digital Blue with unlimited school site licence
  • The Docking Station with USB connection
  • AAA batteries

The course will include:

  • An introduction to the camera and its many features
  • Familiarisation with the editing software
  • Practising using the camera for basic video work and image capture
  • Using the camera for simple stop frame animation
  • Using SwitchIt! Maker 2 software to create simple resources to take back to the classroom
