Communicate: In Print 2 is a tool which enables creation of symbol supported materials such as books, worksheets, newsletters and posters. Photographs and pictures can be inserted and laid out on the page as required.

Colleagues attending this course will:

  • Discuss appropriate use of symbols.
  • Explore the program's tools and options used to create materials.
  • Create printed materials such as posters and books.
  • Learn about other options for layout and design such as grids and tables.

This course will be of interest to school or college based colleagues working to differentiate materials or with individuals who require symbol support.

Each delegate will receive a 1GB memory stick preloaded with extra material relevant to the course. It can also be used throughout the day to save their practical work.

  • Discussion and activities around appropriate usage of symbols

  • Demonstration of basic functions of the program
  • Entering text and symbols
  • Positioning text, symbols to design a layout
  • Practical task - create a poster for use in your establishment
