The Haemophilia Society

"The Haemophilia Society is working to secure the best possible care, treatment and support for people with haemophilia and their families".

Who are we? The Haemophilia Society was established in 1950 and is the national charity in the UK that represents people with haemophilia, von Willebrand's disease and related bleeding disorders. There is a national office in central London, about 5000 members and a network of support groups (chapters).

What do we do? The Society provides a wide range of services for members and information about haemophilia for the those with haemophilia and the general public.

What are our international links? Haemophilia is a condition that occurs worldwide and affects all racial groups. The UK Haemophilia Society is a founder member of The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and remains an active member of this organisation. The WFH was created in 1963 and its mission is to promote and advance services and care worldwide to persons with haemophilia and related bleeding disorders.
