BECTa's remit is to ensure that technololy supports the DfES's objectives to drive up standards, in particular to provide the professional expertise the DfES needs to support the furture development of the National Grid for Learning. Becta also has a role in the further education sector's developing use of ICT in the identifcation of ICT opportunities for special educational needs, and in the evaluation of new technologies as they come on stream.
BECTa aim to cover all aspects of IT in education, from the needs of primary schools to those of FE and from the aspirations of parents to those of governors.
