Laura Cryer has joined Inclusive Technology as Special Projects Manager. Until recently Laura worked with SEMERC as their SEN and Inclusion Publisher, developing over thirty well-known and respected software titles. These included the Tracks series, Sound Beginnings, Out & About series, Phoneme Factory, Emotional Literacy Screeners, Sensory Awareness Screener, Letter Olympics, Touch Its, Making Creatures, Think About!, Strumbie Island, A Busy Day and others.
An experienced practitioner, Laura previously worked as a teacher of children with special needs as well as a youth work leader and Adult Basic Education Teacher. This work has included training and supporting a group of primary schools in all their SEN needs.

The Out & Abouts were published as part of the TATE project (Through Assistive Technology to Employment) managed by the Home Farm Trust. Princess Ann gave the keynote address at the conference on October 10th 2007 at the Kensington Roof Gardens in London.
Laura said, "I am passionate about championing learning experiences for the individual that are meaningful and fun, which support the many diverse learning styles that exist."
Laura has provided additional support for those with special needs through her work as Vice-chair of the BESA Special Needs Group and with the BECTA Accessibility Steering Group. She also supported those with communication difficulties when she was involved with BECTA’S CAP project within Sheffield.
Laura's software has been short-listed for BETT Awards five times and has won Pre-School awards, US Library and ERA awards.
We are looking forward to the contribution Laura will bring to Inclusive Technology as Special Projects Manager, as she helps develop software that will provide inclusive and accessible learning opportunities for those with special needs. Laura is also looking forward to providing additional support to colleagues working as SENCos in schools, and for all who use technology to enhance educational opportunities and experiences for those with SEN.
