“Your company has an interesting history … ”
I don't think we are supposed to repeat what royalty say to us but I was again dumbstruck by how stunningly well briefed Princess Anne always is. I know it's now “the Princess Royal” but I was brought up collecting 6d saving stamps with Princess Anne pictured as a toddler on each.
She had just opened ISEC 2005 in Glasgow (brilliantly organised by the University of Strathclyde) with a dynamic and thoughtful speech showing what I know to be her genuine interest in children. We were the first of a dozen groups lined up “informally” over lunch. With each group she had people's backgrounds and the issues facing them at her fingertips. Most impressive.
I remember being just as impressed when HRH opened ISEC 2000 in Manchester five years ago. In my report then I describe the rest of her day opening everything from Young Offenders Units to equestrian events.
As before, Inclusive Technology are producing a CD of the ISEC Conference Papers. These will be sent free from our office to the 800 delegates from 78 countries who attended ISEC 2005. We are also sending it to two thousand colleagues worldwide who subscribe to EENET, another worthwhile international inclusion group which Inclusive Technology sponsors. If you would like a CD of the ISEC papers just drop me an email and I will let you know how to obtain one.
If you would like to see more pictures of ISEC 2005 or Princess Anne opening this conference go to the full picture gallery.
