Martin Day

Learning Disability ShowWe were delighted to take part in the Learning Disability Today show at the Business Design Centre in November.

And it was great to see adults with learning difficulties trying out the Tech Zone, a fun and interactive area with activities that adults of all abilities could enjoy.

SwitchIt! Jigsaw Maker was a definite hit, with photographs of the visitors instantly being turned into on-screen jigsaws with variable levels of difficulty.SwitchIt! Jigsaw Maker was a hit!

We also had movie-making software and a camera to turn visitors into film stars for the day! Adults recorded a 5 second clip of themselves, their key workers and friends, and then added in special effects of their choice. We had lots of fun with this!

The final activity for visitors was to vote on what they thought of the Tech Zone. They did this using IntelliMathics, using either a mouse or by pressing an overlay on an IntelliKeys alternative keyboard. As you can see, most enjoyed it thoroughly!

Overall, the Tech Zone proved a great success. And our visitors were pleased to receive their Inclusive Technology attendance certificates too!
