Three Inclusive products shortlisted for BETT Awards

Three Inclusive products shortlisted for BETT AwardsThree of our products have just been shortlisted for the prestigious BETT Awards for educational resources.

Choose and Tell: Nursery Rhymes has received rave reviews since its launch. It is a beautifully illustrated story program and more; it allows children to choose a character and take them on an adventure. It motivates and encourages them to make decisions about what happens next - and they love the comical outcomes! It has been shortlisted for the Early Years and Primary Software, Content and Tools category.

Two of Inclusive's communication devices have been shortlisted for the Early Years, Primary and Secondary Special Educational Needs Hardware award.

Our shortlisted productsThe SuperTalker by AbleNet offers great flexibility because its grids can quickly and easily change it into a one, two, four or eight message device. This gives scope to involve pupils in all kinds of classroom activities and its portability makes it useful at home, too.

The Tech/Talk with Environmental Control Unit from AMDi is an eight message communicator with the added capability of switching mains electrical devices or lights on or off. Users with physical disabilities can control the environment around them and link speech output with a tangible effect, reinforcing the spoken message.

"We always seek to provide the highest quality products in our catalogue and I am delighted that this is being recognised in the prestigious BETT Awards," said Trish Hornsey, Managing Director of Inclusive Technology.

"We are very proud of Choose and Tell: Nursery Rhymes, the result of a collaboration between our development team and special needs educator, Nick Wonham. We also have a long association with both AbleNet and AMDi, makers of high quality switches and communicators."

BETT is the largest educational technology event in the world, with up to 25,000 teachers attending each January. Like the Edinburgh festival it now has a fringe, with specialist special needs companies exhibiting independently at the Special Needs Fringe in the Olympia Hilton next door.

The BETT Awards recognise and reward the creativity, innovation and commitment of an organisation or company in developing high quality and effective educational ICT resources. Over 300 products are nominated each year for an Award. The overall winners will be announced at a gala dinner in January 2005.
