You may remember that Inclusive Technology and
IntelliTools held a prize draw at the
Special Needs Fringe
Exhibition in January this year. The prize was a scholarship place to the
2003 IntelliTools Summer Masters Institute in San Francisco, California, at the
beginning of August.
Our lucky winner was Deborah Moppett, from Chingford in Essex, a passionate teacher of children with profound and multiple Learning Difficulties. She is the ICT Coordinator of Harlow Fields School and is full of enthusiasm for new ways in which her pupils can learn and interact.
Deborah, accompanied by her husband John, met up with
two of our Information Team staff - Imogen and Ian - at the Dominican
University at San Rafael. The IntelliTools workshops, break out sessions,
presentations, hands-on work and discussion proved to be lively and
informative. Teachers and IT professionals from all over the world with some
proficiency in using IntelliTools products attended the conference. Many of
those invited are instrumental in the field of special educational needs,
representing large research bodies and software companies.
New software in the impressive IntelliTools range was demonstrated - including switch accessible movies made in IntelliPics Studio, operated from an IntelliKeys board transformed into a guitar!
The Masters Institute was a resounding success, with plans to repeat the event in 2004.
