John BercowBercow to Investigate Communication Disorders Provision.

John Bercow the Conservative MP and Channel 4 “2005 Backbencher of the Year” is to investigate the provision of help for learners with a Communication Handicap following a request from the Prime Minister. You can read about this and email Mr Bercow. Please let him have your views.

In February we became so concerned about the plight of some learners with communication handicaps that joined forces with Baroness Walmsley to highlight the issue by organised a debate on the Terrace of the House of Lords. Ivan Lewis MP, the Health Minister responded for the Government and impressed everyone with his obvious knowledge of our field and by his sincerity.

Mr Lewis promised some action for these learners within a year. If this is that response then we are impressed.

We aim to keep you informed about the world of assistive technology and happenings here at Inclusive, by sending six bulletins per year. And we'd love your feedback! Please contact me by replying to this email or via martin@inclusive.co.uk and let me know what you think.

Martin Littler
