PageBot enables people who struggle with finger, hand and/or motor challenges to read independently. Designed for adaptability, PageBot has actuators for the Kindle's Next Page and Previous Page buttons, a contoured frame for securely holding the Kindle, and a universal mounting arm that can position the Kindle for convenient reading. Its switch interface accepts Next Page and Previous Page commands from one or two switches, or a wired or wireless USB mouse device.
PageBot provides a compact, reliable, and cost effective solution for reading. Simply plug in your switches using standard 3.5mm jack plugs. Dual switches, like sip/puff versions, can interface with a single stereo cable. In addition, a USB interface is provided so that PageBot can be operated from the buttons of a wired or wireless USB mouse.
PageBot captures the Kindle in a grip of compliant foam that helps prevent scratches and enhances resistance to mechanical shocks. The mounting arm supplied can be articulated in different directions to allow a comfortable reading position and includes a clamp for connecting to table tops, shelves, or cylindrical rods of up to 36mm diameter. PageBot also incorporates a standard 1/4-20 threaded insert for use with tripods or other special mounting hardware.
PageBot has very low quiescent power consumption and can be powered by the power adapter that ships with the Kindle or from an optional USB battery pack.
It has an optional Keep Awake mode that can prevent the Kindle going to ‘sleep’ after a period of inactivity. This eliminates the need to manipulate the Kindle power switch after a pause in reading.
