Inclusive was proud to once again sponsor the Rotary Club of Oldham’s Student of the Year Awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of young people’s contribution to their communities.
Inclusive sponsored the 16+ category, which was won by Yasmin Jolly from Hulme Grammar School, in recognition of her commitment to voluntary work. She received a laptop computer from Inclusive Technology along with an engraved shield. The runner up for the 16+ group was Kamraan Akhtar from Oldham 6th Form College, who won vouchers for £100 donated by Inclusive.
The 11-15 Student of the Year category was sponsored by Trinity Mirror Printing of Hollinwood. The winner was Adeel Asif and the runner up was Zahraa Ahmed, both from Hathershaw College of Technology and Sport.
Hulme Grammar and Hathershaw College of Technology and Sport also received engraved shields from the Rotary Club of Oldham.
Ray Coverley, Chairman of the Student of the Year committee, said: “This year we have received a record number of nominations. We are always impressed by the standard of nominations and this year was no exception. Congratulations to the four winners and commiserations to the remaining 24 students, all of whom do a splendid job in their communities.”
The awards were announced at the Mayor’s Parlour in Oldham, in the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress.
