Full Product Description
Learners are taken stage by stage through the many applications of the mouse. Move the mouse over an object, drag and drop, drag along a path and the use of drop-down menus are all represented. Various clicking activities can be found such as clicking anywhere, click timing and double clicking.
Introductions to each activity are provided and the successful completion of a task is met with a range of pleasing rewards.
Many games options are configurable, such as the complexity of the task. Background graphics may be switched off to provide a high contrast visual appearance. Colours, sound effects and background music may be similarly customised. Setups will be remembered when restarting the program.
"We are a special school and the younger pupils have great difficulty with the use of the mouse. Since using Mouse Skills they are transformed and now the ICT world is open to them. They are stimulated with the simplicity, sounds and especially the anticipation of the rewards. We also have a 9 year old who had no inclination to sit at the computer. He could be aggressive and highly distracted, but since being drawn into the program, after hearing it, he actually sat whilst I completed it and he anticipated the rewards. I use a small mouse with a penny velcroed to it and gradually introdued his hand. Within a short time he was actually insisting on going on Mouse Skills and then worked at it independently. He is now using other Inclusive software appropriately. Many thanks again and thank you for such brilliant software!!"
