Special Examination Arrangements and Consideration
There is a publication by the Joint Council for General Qualifications called 'Regulations and Guidance Relating to Candidates with Particular Requirements'.
It describes all aspects of 'special arrangements' in the context of the SEN Code of Practice. Guidance is given on particular disabilities such as visual or hearing impairment or learning difficulties, for example.
Regulations are set out for the use of specialised equipment such as computers or word processors as well as the role of practical assistants, communicators and readers.
The booklet also contains application forms to request special examination arrangements.
The booklet can be downloaded from the library section (in Administration) of the AQA web site (AQA is a merger of AEB and NEAB).
