Inclusive Technology Information Days are a great opportunity for educators, therapists, advisors and others working in the field of special needs to come together and see how technology is changing the lives of all learners. Delivered by members of our respected and highly experienced Information Team, these one day sessions are packed with practical ideas and advice on using technology to engage and include students in communication, learning and leisure.
We now offer two types of Information Day to cover the huge range of resources now available.
The first will cover supporting students with more profound special needs. It will cover the use of communications devices in the classroom, choosing appropriate devices for students and strategies for developing their abilities from the use of simple single message communicators to dynamic display devices. We will also look at supporting students who are switch users, covering assessment and early interaction activities, switch skill progression and the creation of custom resources.
The second will look at supporting students with a range of special needs in mainstream schools in an inclusive environment. We will cover adapting the computer for students who are struggling with the standard keyboard and mouse and the wide range of access devices available. We will also look at hardware and software resources to support those struggling with reading and writing because of Specific Learning Difficulties such as Dyslexia.
You can attend either one or even both of these days at no cost, Information Days are free - but booking is essential!
