Think About! 1
This unique and popular program helps improve memory, attention, listening and specific literacy skills in pupils aged 7 and over. Ideal for more reluctant readers and those with specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia). Develops understanding, inviting the user to demonstrate levels of literal, inferential and evaluative comprehension. Everyday scenes in the life of Jasmine and Harry are shown at the recycling centre, gardening, camping, supermarket, library, fishing and skateboarding. The user watches the animations and then answers questions about the story. Computer based activities include recording your own version of the dialogue, matching sentences to pictures, true or false statements, sequencing, finding the right word and Do you remember?. Full accessibility options, clip art and records are available, while the accompanying photocopiable colour workbook provides full and simplified text of the stories, together with questions for further comprehension work. This software is brilliant! It has stimulating stories with characters and content that the children relate to. It has a series of activities that encourages listening, thinking and comprehension. Children with weaker skills can happily work alongside children who may not need the access options provided, such as the on-screen reader... no keyboard skills are required... easy to use. Workbook is proving invaluable... the children repeatedly ask to use it!
