Making Sense with Words 
Language/literacy development activities. Students complete sentences by responding to attractive full coloured images, with speech support. The program provides a very large number of sentences to develop the use of nouns, verbs, prepositions, a/an, colours, spelling, questions, grammar, riddles etc. The editor provided allows you to add your own sentences, pictures and sounds. Students complete sentences by responding to images and sometimes sounds. Results can be printed out from the title screen showing which sentences have been correctly completed. The activities Each of the activities functions in the same way. Complete the sentence by choosing a word with the mouse, by typing in a word or by choosing a word by scanning with switches or the keyboard. On each activity screen a picture is shown as a visual clue. Sometimes a sound is played, too. When a word is selected from the list on the right of the screen, the word is spoken. If it is the correct word, the sentence is completed and then read out in full. The character also animates as a reward. Selecting an individual word in the sentence causes it to be highlighted and spoken. At any time a new sentence can be shown by clicking on the arrow at the top of the screen. |
